CD Staffing is a locally owned and operated staffing firm with locations in Tampa, Clearwater, & Largo. We operate 9 locations in Florida and continue to grow! We have immediate openings in Lakeland, FL area for a Machinist position. This person will be working in a fast-paced, social, and customer-centric company.

Monday- Friday 7am-4pm Job Summary We are seeking a skilled Manual Lathe Machinist to manufacture, repair, and modify precision metal and plastic components using manual machining equipment. The ideal candidate is highly experienced in hands-on machining, able to work from prints and specifications, and committed to maintaining high quality and safety standards. Key Responsibilities Review samples, blueprints, drawings, and instructions to determine specifications Plan machining operations and sequence of work Measure, mark, and prepare materials for machining Operate manual machines including: Lathes (manual and electronically assisted) Bridgeport vertical mills Milling machines (vertical and horizontal) Drill presses Surface grinders Band saws (horizontal and vertical) Machine and polish pulley surfaces to OEM-equivalent specifications Manufacture tools and fixtures required for facility operations Select appropriate tooling, fixtures, speeds, and feeds Monitor machining processes and adjust as needed Inspect finished parts using precision measuring tools Identify and correct defects; maintain quality standards Perform routine machine maintenance and minor repairs Maintain accurate production and inspection records Follow all safety procedures and shop standards Requirements & Qualifications Minimum of 15 years of machinist experience in a manufacturing or job shop environment Proven experience with manual lathes, Bridgeport mills, and surface grinders Proficient in using precision measuring tools: Calipers (digital/dial) Micrometers Dial indicators Edge finders Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical documents Strong math skills and mechanical aptitude Knowledge of metal properties and machining processes Ability to lift heavy materials and stand for extended periods Must be able to pass a background check and drug screen

Pay:

$25.00 - $30.00 per hour
