Job Overview We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Manual Machinist to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining manual machining equipment to produce and repair marine components in a shipyard environment. Ability to read blueprints, interpret mechanical drawings, and utilize various machining tools will be essential to ensure the highest quality standards. Your hands-on mechanical knowledge and dedication to precision will drive our manufacturing excellence forward. Responsibilities Interpret mechanical blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications to determine machining requirements. Operate manual lathes, grinders, milling machines, and other machining tools safely and efficiently. Set up and calibrate machines for optimal performance, including selecting appropriate tooling and fixtures. Use precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, and coordinate measuring machines (CMM) to verify dimensions and ensure quality control. Perform manual machining tasks with accuracy, including turning, drilling, boring, grinding, and threading metal components. Read and interpret GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) to maintain tight tolerances in production parts. Maintain a clean and organized work environment while adhering to safety protocols at all times. Requirements Proven experience as a Manual Machinist. Proficiency in using measurement tools such as calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, and CMMs for quality inspection. Knowledge of machining processes including turning on lathe machines, milling on manual mills, grinding, and drilling. Ability to read technical drawings accurately and understand engineering specifications. Basic math skills for precise measurement calculations and setup adjustments. Mechanical knowledge of tooling setup, machine calibration, and maintenance procedures. Physical ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks safely using hand tools and power tools. Pay:
$26.10 - $40.00 per hour
