Overview Join our dynamic manufacturing team as a CNC Machinist and become a vital part of producing precision-engineered components. In this role, you'll operate, set up, and maintain CNC machines to craft high-quality parts with accuracy and efficiency. Your expertise in machining processes, blueprint interpretation, and measurement will drive our commitment to excellence. Responsibilities Operate CNC machines such as lathes and milling centers, ensuring optimal performance and safety standards are met. Set up machines by installing tooling, fixtures, and programming parameters based on detailed blueprints and technical specifications. Interpret mechanical blueprints and technical drawings to produce precise components, utilizing CAD (Computer-Aided Design) and CAM (Computer-Aided Manufacturing) programming tools. Perform CNC G-code programming and M-code adjustments to refine machining processes for complex parts. Conduct precision measurements using calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, coordinate measuring machines (CMM), and other precision measuring instruments to verify part quality. Maintain quality control through CNC quality inspections, ensuring parts meet GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) standards. Troubleshoot machining issues, perform machine setup adjustments, and perform manual machining when necessary to meet production goals. Support lean manufacturing initiatives by optimizing tooling setups, reducing waste, and improving process efficiency. Conduct routine maintenance on CNC equipment including grinders, tool changers, and other machining tools to ensure longevity and performance. Collaborate with team members on assembly tasks involving plastics injection molding or welding when required. Requirements Proven experience as a CNC Machinist with strong knowledge of CNC machining tools, machine setup, and operation of CNC milling machines and lathes. Proficiency in reading mechanical blueprints and understanding mechanical blueprint interpretation along with GD&T principles. Skilled in CNC programming languages such as G-code and M-code; experience with Fanuc controls is preferred but not mandatory. Familiarity with CAD software like SolidWorks or similar design tools for interpreting technical drawings. Ability to perform precision measurements using micrometers, calipers, bore gauges, and coordinate measuring machines (CMM). Mechanical knowledge of metal machining processes including grinding, boring, drilling, and manual machining techniques. Basic math skills for calculations related to measurements, tolerances, and machine settings. Experience working with machining tools such as hand tools, power tools, grinders, and tooling fixtures. Knowledge of safety procedures related to machine operation and manufacturing environments; forklift certification is a plus but not required. Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot machine issues quickly while maintaining high-quality standards.
