In this role, you will be responsible for operating and setting up manual machining equipment to produce precision metal components according to detailed blueprints and specifications. Your expertise in mechanical interpretation, measurement, and manual machining techniques will be essential to ensure the highest quality standards are met. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with a dynamic team dedicated to manufacturing excellence and continuous improvement. Responsibilities Interpret mechanical blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications accurately to determine machining requirements. Set up and operate manual machining tools such as lathes, grinders, calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, and hand tools to produce precise metal parts. Perform measurements using precision measuring instruments to verify dimensions and ensure compliance with quality standards. Read and interpret engineering drawings, including GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing), for accurate part fabrication. Use basic math skills to calculate dimensions, tolerances, and machining parameters necessary for production. Maintain a clean and organized work area while adhering to safety protocols during machine setup and operation. Assist in assembly processes when required, ensuring parts meet specifications before final inspection. Support continuous improvement initiatives by suggesting process enhancements for manual machining operations. Experience Proven experience working as a Manual Machinist or in a similar precision machining role within a manufacturing environment. Strong knowledge of machining tools such as lathes, grinders, and hand tools used in manual metalworking processes. Proficiency in reading mechanical blueprints and understanding GD&T principles for accurate part fabrication. Familiarity with measurement tools including calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, and other precision instruments. Basic understanding of CNC programming concepts such as M-code and G-code is a plus but not required; hands-on experience with CNC programming is advantageous. Mechanical knowledge with the ability to interpret mechanical blueprints and perform precise measurements for quality control purposes. Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced manufacturing setting while maintaining attention to detail.
