Job Description Ohio Heat, an Active Radiator company, is looking for an experienced CNC Machinist / Fabricator to join our St. Clairsville, OH operation. This is a skilled, hands-on position combining CNC machining, CNC programming, press brake operation, and metal fabrication. We are looking for an experienced machinist who can take a project from a drawing or specification through programming, machine setup, machining, fabrication, and final inspection. Aluminum TIG welding experience is highly desirable. A candidate who brings both strong machining/fabrication skills and Aluminum TIG welding experience would be an excellent fit for the range of work performed within our operation. The ideal candidate will be able to work independently from technical drawings, determine the appropriate machining and fabrication processes, select tooling, program and set up equipment, and produce accurate, high-quality components to specification. Responsibilities CNC Machining Read and interpret technical drawings, prints, dimensions, and specifications Program, set up, and operate CNC machining equipment Determine appropriate machining methods, sequences, tooling, and setups based on drawings and specifications Create and modify CNC programs as necessary to produce parts to specification Establish machine offsets and make necessary adjustments during machining Select, install, and change cutting tools and other tooling Perform machining operations according to drawings and specifications Accurately use calipers and other precision measuring instruments Inspect finished components to verify dimensions, tolerances, and overall quality Troubleshoot machining and programming issues and make appropriate corrections CNC Press Brake & Fabrication Program, set up, and operate a CNC press brake Read and interpret drawings to determine dimensions, bend locations, angles, and fabrication requirements Select appropriate tooling and establish press brake setups Cut, form, fit, and fabricate metal components Verify completed parts against drawings and specifications Use hand and power tools safely and effectively Assist with the fabrication and assembly of heat exchanger components Inspect completed work for accuracy and quality Welding Perform Aluminum TIG welding when qualified and as needed Prepare and fit aluminum components for welding and fabrication Assist with other welding and fabrication work based on experience and production needs Qualifications CNC machining and programming experience required Ability to independently read and interpret technical drawings and specifications Ability to determine machining processes, setups, and tooling from drawings Experience setting up CNC equipment, establishing offsets, and selecting tooling Experience creating, modifying, and troubleshooting CNC programs Experience with CNC press brake setup and operation preferred Metal fabrication experience Ability to accurately use precision measuring instruments Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving ability Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing accurate, quality work Ability to work independently as well as part of a team Dependable attendance and strong work ethic Ability to lift up to 50 pounds Must be able to pass a pre-employment physical and drug screening Highly Preferred Aluminum TIG welding experience Experience welding and fabricating aluminum components Experience with heat exchangers, radiators, or similar fabricated products Potential candidates will be required to successfully complete an onsite machining, fabrication, and mechanical aptitude test. Candidates with Aluminum TIG welding experience may also be asked to complete an onsite weld test. Education & Experience High school diploma or equivalent required
