We're a local manufacturing company with a specialized focus on shaft work. Our operation is unique in that many of our jobs involve turning shafts to precise diameters, along with a variety of manual machining and fabrication work. We're a small, tight-knit team that values craftsmanship, precision, reliability, and a strong work ethic.
What You'll Do:
Set up and operate manual lathes and knee mills Operate band saws and various hand tools Set up and run jobs assigned by the supervisor Turn shafts and other components to precise dimensions and tolerances Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and prints Use precision measuring instruments down to 0.0001" Perform inspections and verify finished dimensions Assist with repairs and maintenance around the plant as directed Operate a forklift after completing required certification Assist with welding tasks when qualified and requested Maintain a clean and organized work area Follow all safety procedures and work instructions Show up on time and maintain dependable attendance What's In It for

Have:
The Musts:
Manual machining experience, particularly lathe and/or knee mill operation Ability to read and interpret drawings and prints Ability to read precision measuring instruments down to 0.0001" Experience with micrometers, calipers, and other precision measuring tools Ability to set up and run assigned machining jobs Strong attention to detail Dependable attendance and punctuality Ability to safely perform physical shop work and lift up to 50 lbs Willingness to assist with general repairs and maintenance as needed
Preferred:
Experience specifically working with shaft components Welding experience Forklift experience or certification Experience working in a 4x10 or similar schedule Experience with general plant maintenance or repair work
