Produces machined parts by programming, setting up, and operating a computer numerical control (CNC) machine; maintaining quality and safety standards; keeping records; maintaining equipment and supplies.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Program CNC lathes by entering instructions, including zero and reference points; setting tool registers, offsets, compensation, and conditional switches; calculating requirements, including basic math, geometry, and trigonometry; proving part programs. Sets-up lathes by installing and adjusting three- and four-jaw chucks, tools, attachments, collets, and bushings. Verifies settings by measuring positions, first-run part, and sample workpieces; adhering to international standards, and familiar with GD&T tolerancing. Maintains specifications by observing drilling, grooving, and cutting, including turning, facing, knurling and thread chasing operations; taking measurements; detecting malfunctions; troubleshooting processes; adjusting and reprogramming controls; sharpening and replacing worn tools; adhering to quality assurance procedures and processes. Maintains safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and regulations. Maintains equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements; following manufacturer's instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions; calling for repairs. Maintains continuity among work shifts by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs. Training staff on machine operation procedures. Documents actions by completing production and quality logs.

Qualifications:
Must have a high school diploma or equivalent
3 - 5 years' experience as a CNC Operator
Read and interpret blueprints
Physical Demands:
The physical demands described below must be met to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk working on a computer; intermittent standing and walking.
Dexterity is mandatory as this job requires frequent use of hands and fingers.
Will be required to talk, hear, and see. Vision requirements for this position include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, ability to adjust focus and ability to differentiate between colors.
Occasional lifting and moving of up to 50 lbs.
Must be able to stand 6-10 hours a day.
Work Environment:
This position is in a manufacturing setting.
Indoor work which may not be temperature controlled.
Exposed to loud sounds and distracting noise levels.
