Full Job Description CNC Machinist Location:
Onsite | Temple, PA Our client, a well-established precision machine shop, is looking for an experienced CNC Machinist to join their growing team in Temple, PA. Compensation:
$25.00-$40.00/hour, based on experience + unlimited overtime opportunities 401k Medical insurance with a generous HRA Paid Time Off A Day in the Life of a CNC Machinist You'll be the go-to person for setting up and running CNC mills, lathes, and multi-axis machines on a variety of low-volume, high-mix job shop work. From reading prints and GD&T to writing and editing programs at the control, you'll take parts from raw material to finished, inspected product — helping this shop maintain the precision and reliability its customers count on.
Responsibilities include:
Reading and interpreting blueprints, GD&T, and work orders to plan machining operations and set up jobs Setting up CNC mills, lathes, or multi-axis machines, including work-holding, tool offsets, and fixture alignment Writing, editing, and optimizing CNC programs using G-code and M-code, including edits at the machine control Selecting appropriate tooling, speeds, feeds, and cutting parameters for the material and operation Running first-article and in-process inspections using precision measuring instruments (micrometers, calipers, height gauges, CMM as applicable) Troubleshooting and correcting program or setup issues to maintain quality and minimize scrap Performing routine machine maintenance and keeping the work area clean, organized, and safe Working independently on varied, low-volume/high-mix orders with minimal supervision Communicating with shop leadership on job status, tooling needs, or print discrepancies
Work Hours:
7:00 am - 3:30 pm
Requirements and Qualifications:
5+ years of hands-on CNC machining experience in a job shop or precision manufacturing environment Demonstrated ability to independently set up CNC machines from raw stock through finished part Proficient writing and editing G-code and M-code (manual programming, not solely CAM-generated) Strong blueprint reading and GD&T interpretation skills Skilled use of precision measuring tools and inspection equipment Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship Reliable, punctual, and able to work safely in a shop environment
Preferred:
experience with CAM software (Mastercam, Fusion 360), multi-axis mills/CNC lathes with live tooling, and familiarity with ISO/AS9100 or similar quality systems About the
