Job Description

Overview We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Machinist to join our manufacturing team. The Machinist will be responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining various machine tools to produce precision parts that meet strict quality standards. This role plays a vital part in ensuring the efficient production of components used across multiple industries, including aerospace, automotive, and industrial manufacturing. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical aptitude, proficiency in CNC programming, and a thorough understanding of blueprint reading and measurement techniques. Responsibilities Interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications to produce precise machined parts. Program, set up, and operate CNC machines such as CNC lathes and milling machines using Fanuc controls. Utilize precision measuring instruments including calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, and coordinate measuring machines to verify dimensions. Perform routine maintenance on machine tools and troubleshoot issues to minimize downtime. Select appropriate tooling and fixtures to optimize machining processes. Conduct quality inspections using GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) standards to ensure parts meet specifications. Apply knowledge of electrical discharge machining (EDM) techniques for complex component fabrication. Collaborate with engineering teams on CNC programming adjustments using CAM software and SolidWorks or CAD for design verification. Maintain a clean and organized work area adhering to safety protocols. Support lean manufacturing initiatives to improve efficiency and reduce waste. Assist with assembly processes when necessary, utilizing hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and plastics injection molding techniques. Requirements Proven experience as a Machinist or CNC operator in a manufacturing environment. Proficiency in CNC programming languages such as G-code and familiarity with Fanuc controls. Strong understanding of blueprint reading, GD&T principles, and mechanical drawings. Experience with CNC milling machines, CNC lathes, EDM equipment, and associated tooling. Knowledge of SolidWorks or CAD software for design interpretation and CAM programming. Ability to operate precision measuring instruments including calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, and coordinate measuring machines. Basic math skills necessary for measurements, calculations, and troubleshooting. Mechanical knowledge related to manufacturing processes such as plastics injection molding and welding. Familiarity with safety procedures related to power tools, hand tools, forklifts, and other machinery. Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment. Strong problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
