12 Hours Per Week Benefits Help for . Logistics Clamp Operator Summary The logistics operator is responsible for the safe and efficient handling of all GPI products. The operator will be required to interact with GPI personnel as well as OTR tractor trailer drivers. These interactions will be conducted in a manner that is respectful and meets the expectations of Abernathy Company. The operator will be responsible for pre and post inspection of all equipment used to complete tasks throughout the day. Essential Functions Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. 1. This position requires a detailed understanding of loading and unloading procedures. 2. Check in, spot, and tally shipments while completing all pre and post inspections. 3. Wear all necessary PPE in compliance with Abernathy SOP. 4. Understand proper Red Tag procedures for any equipment in need of major repair using provided red tags while noting known issues. 5. Wear proper PPE while changing or filling propane cylinders in compliance with Abernathy SOP. 6. Ensure all inbound and outbound trucks are locked out properly with glad hand locks and/or dock locking mechanism. 7. Basic understanding of the rail mover and follow all safety procedures while out on the rail track. 8. Logistics operators are required to take loading pictures of ALL rolls being loaded on outbound shipments along with doorway and seal photos. 9. Logistics operators are required to take pictures of any damaged inbound product and fill out the necessary Damage Awareness Report. 10. Make sure any and all shipment notes are followed for each load in respect to special instructions which vary between receivers. 11. Post loading procedures include a physical count of rolls, verification of the trailer number, and verification of the seal number. 12. Logistics operators must allow OTR drivers to verify the load is loaded correctly before closing doors and sealing the trailer. 13. It is required that the logistics operator get the signature of the OTR driver on the BOL to verify they have received the correct shipment number. 14. Meet predetermined KPIs associated with, productivity, quality, and safety. 15. Logistics operators will be required to participate in quarterly GPI cycle counts to ensure accurate inventory. 16. Team Player. Work Environment This job operates in a variety of settings including clerical office setting as well as a materials handling setting. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. It also uses heavy manufacturing equipment, forklifts and other material moving equipment, trucks, ladders and such other equipment as is found in these types of environments. Physical Demands This is largely a material handling role; some lifting, driving, moving, filling, and packing are required. This position also may require some general housekeeping. This would require the ability to, lift objects, and ride and otherwise operate heavy machinery, bend or stand as necessary. Position Type/Expected Hours of Work This is a full-time position. Week runs Sunday through Saturday, Day or night shift. Occasional holiday work and overtime may be required as job duties demand. Travel This position may require some travel between warehouse locations. Required Education and Experience High School Diploma. General knowledge of heavy machinery and/or forklift certified.
