Job Summary 2nd Shift Operator
- Mon•Thurs 1:30pm•10:30pm and Friday•1:30pm•8pm.
Must have forklift experience and at least 1 year of laser experience. In this role, you will set up and operate laser-cutting equipment, interpret blueprints and work orders, inspect finished materials, and help keep production running safely and efficiently. Eligible for a $1,500 quarterly bonus What You Will Do Set up and operate laser-cutting machines safely and efficiently. Review blueprints, work orders, tooling instructions, and other specifications to understand job requirements. Select and position the correct material according to the work order. Choose appropriate nozzles and set cutting speeds, feeds, depth, and other processing specifications. Evaluate materials, dimensions, tolerances, surface conditions, defects, and operational sequences. Measure and inspect completed pieces using calipers, micrometers, scales, squares, and other precision tools. Perform required in-process and finished-product quality inspections. Identify equipment or processing problems, make routine adjustments, and remove scrap from the machine. Complete production, quality, and work-order documentation accurately. Move, restock, label, and stage materials for additional processing or shipping. Clean equipment and work areas according to established maintenance and housekeeping procedures. Follow all applicable safety, quality, and operating standards. - Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
Job Function What You Will Bring At least one year of laser-cutting experience. Forklift experience; current certification is preferred. Experience setting up, operating, and troubleshooting metalworking equipment. Ability to read and understand blueprints, work orders, written instructions, and measurement specifications. Experience using precision measuring tools and performing basic quality inspections. Basic math skills, including calculations involving decimals, fractions, length, width, height, and weight. Basic computer proficiency and the ability to learn job-related software. Strong attention to detail, sound judgment, and the ability to manage priorities in a production environment. Ability to work effectively and respectfully with supervisors and coworkers. High school diploma or GED preferred. Preferred Experience Experience with industrial laser-cutting equipment and related operating software is a plus. Work Environment and Physical Requirements This position is performed in a warehouse and manufacturing environment where temperatures may vary. The role regularly requires standing, walking, reaching, bending, stooping, kneeling, crouching, using hands and fingers to operate equipment, and performing repetitive movements. Team members must be able to communicate effectively, visually inspect materials and finished work, and safely lift or move up to 50 pounds occasionally, up to 20 pounds frequently, and up to 10 pounds continuously.
