POSITION SUMMARY
Responsible for the operation of production equipment to produce quality products meeting customer specifications.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
An assembly operator will be able to perform the general assembly operations required for the jobs within the department. He consistently meets or exceeds production standards and/or expectations. Must be able to use hand tools that are necessary to perform operations in the department. The operator must be able to package and label parts according to work instructions. Must maintain a safe, clean, orderly and hazard-free work area, promote safety at all times and have knowledge of all safety rules, seeing that all work is done in a safe manner. Must comply with Wayne Metals, LLC quality system requirements, defect/error prevention and waste reduction. Will be required to do quality checks. Will be trained and use SPC systems in place for production operations.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
High school graduate or equivalent training or work experience.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
Knowledge of arithmetic. Knowledge of blueprint reading.
ENVIRONMENTAL MANAGEMENT RESPONSIBILITIES
Conform to all Wayne Metals, LLC environmental policies, programs and procedures. Conform to all State of Indiana laws and regulations. Report any environmental concerns to Supervisor, Environmental Management Representative, or the Plant manager.
