Job Description

Position Title:
Machine Operator (I,II,III)
Department:
Tire Processing Facility (TPF)
Reports To:
Shift Supervisor Position Summary:
The Machine Operator performs a variety of tasks involving operation of tire recycling machinery and inspection of product quality, basic preventive maintenance of the machinery, problem solving to keep the equipment running at optimal levels and maintaining cleanliness.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Operates tire recycling machinery by interacting with the PLC equipment and physical controls/materials on the floor 2. Performs quality control functions by inspecting, identifying, and reporting variances in output, product quality, etc. 3. Moves material and recycled tires. 4. Performs basic preventive maintenance adhering to machine specific schedules. 5. Maintains safety and cleanliness of work site, especially around shredders. 6. Understands and follows all required company safety procedures and fully complies with OSHA and other regulatory requirements for job; wears and maintains all required personal protective equipment as appropriate. 7.
Machine Operator Grades Machine Operator I:
Can perform basic operations in one machine group (TG or Cracker Mill)
Machine Operator II:
Can perform advanced operations in at least 1 machine group, can assist on some machine operations inside the facility
Machine Operator III:
Can perform advanced operations in both machine groups, and act as a member of the maintenance team Advanced vs
Basic Operations:

a. Running Machine centers (enabling drives, clearing alarms) b. CR Bag changes, labeling, wrapping, move to camfil area c. Emptying of dumpsters d. Cleaning of equipment e. Understanding and recognition of quality non-conformities f. Basic maintenance 2. Advanced Operations (in addition to basic): a. System Optimization (adjusting settings to maximize production) b. Response to quality incidents (recognizing a quality defect and correcting the relevant equipment) c. Testing of Crumb rubber samples for gradation

Pay:
$18.00 - $21.60 per hour
