Job Summary We are seeking a motivated and skilled Heavy Machine Operator to join our dynamic construction team. In this vital role, you will operate a variety of heavy machinery to facilitate excavation, grading, paving, and utility work on construction sites. Your expertise will ensure that projects are completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest standards. Duties Operate heavy construction machinery including excavators, dozers, loaders, graders, backhoes, water trucks, dump trucks, and horizontal drilling equipment to perform excavation, grading, paving, and utility installation tasks. Conduct routine maintenance and safety checks on all equipment to ensure optimal performance and compliance with safety regulations. Follow construction plans and site instructions accurately to complete grading, utility work, and other site preparation activities. Locate underground utilities using specialized equipment before commencing excavation or drilling activities to prevent damage or accidents. Adhere strictly to federal construction safety regulations and equipment safety procedures at all times during operations. Assist with construction site setup, including positioning machinery for specific tasks and coordinating with other team members for efficient workflow. Maintain detailed records of equipment usage, maintenance logs, and safety inspections to ensure ongoing compliance and operational readiness. Requirements Proven experience operating heavy machinery such as excavators, dozers (Caterpillar preferred), loaders, graders, backhoes, water trucks, dump trucks, and horizontal drilling equipment in a construction environment. Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to perform basic maintenance and troubleshoot equipment issues promptly. Valid commercial driver's license with experience in commercial truck driving and hauling heavy loads across construction sites. Knowledge of construction utility work including utility locating techniques and underground infrastructure safety protocols. Familiarity with federal construction safety regulations and strict adherence to safety regulations at all times. Construction site experience demonstrating proficiency in excavation, grading, paving, and general construction utility work. Ability to operate multiple types of heavy equipment safely while maintaining productivity standards. Excellent understanding of construction grading techniques and equipment maintenance procedures.
