You must be physically fit! This job involves the ability to think and work quickly and repetitively lift 5-30 pounds, and occasionally more. This is a small shop and regular attendance is a MUST. Part of this job is the ability to comprehend and retain information. This is not a warehouse, pick & pull, or somewhere you can hide and not do work. We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Machine Operator Trainee to join our manufacturing team. This entry-level role offers an exciting opportunity to develop technical skills and gain hands-on experience operating a variety of machinery in a fast-paced production environment. As a Machine Operator Trainee, you will learn to set up, operate, and maintain different types of manufacturing equipment while adhering to safety standards and quality protocols. This paid position is ideal for individuals eager to start a career in manufacturing, machining, or fabrication, with opportunities for growth and skill advancement. Responsibilities Assist in the setup and calibration of machinery for combing cotton. Learn to operate manufacturing equipment safely and efficiently under supervision. Conduct routine inspections using precision measuring instruments. Support materials handling tasks including loading/unloading materials with forklifts and organizing inventory within the warehouse or production floor. Participate in quality control processes by monitoring production outputs and documenting measurements. Assist with basic maintenance, tooling changes, and troubleshooting of machinery as instructed by experienced operators. Requirements Basic understanding of mechanical concepts and manufacturing processes gained through factory experience or technical training. Familiarity with tools such as hand tools, calipers, micrometers, and other precision measuring instruments. Comfortable working with materials handling equipment like forklifts (certification preferred). Strong attention to detail with good math skills for measurements and calculations. Ability to follow safety protocols diligently in a manufacturing environment. Willingness to learn new skills. PM Pay:
$18.00•$20.00 per hour
