Position Overview:

Under the general direction of the Production Manager the Embroidery/Heat Press operator is responsible for ensuring that decorated apparel orders are completed accurately and punctually. The Embroidery/Heat Press Operator will operate an multi-head embroidery machine or a heat press, depending on demand and production schedule.

Key Responsibilities:

Read, interpret and complete embroidery & heat seal work orders in English. Enter appropriate design information into embroidery machines. Select correct colors of thread and properly thread embroidery machines. Hoops garments and fabric an eye for details, quality conscious. Operate embroidery machine and monitor during sewing. Inspect and compare product with work orders. Perform adjustments to embroidery machines as needed. Apply heat transfers to apparel using heat press. Complete finishing processes such as trimming, folding, and bagging garments. Operate any of the embroidery/heat press machines at the assigned location. Standing at the machine for extended periods of time or lifting up to 40 lbs. may be required. Verify that the count, garment types, print location and artwork are correct prior to production. Document all necessary information pertaining to order in the ERP system, such as order printed, and colors used. Perform daily maintenance and cleaning of the machine. Complete daily production documentation. Become proficient and trained in all aspects of the department. Facilitate customer walk-ins for new orders and pickups. Other duties as assigned or dictated by the needs of the business. Required Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. Embroidery and heat press experience preferred; however, will train the right candidate. Strong attention to detail; mechanical inclination helpful. Must have good judgment of color, design and order specifications.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. The team member must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. The team member must be able to regularly spend 8 hours actively moving on their feet Preferred Qualifications 3-5 years of embroidery experience. 3-5 years of heat press experience.
