We're hiring an Inserter Machine Operator to run our inserting equipment and help with handwork on the production floor. No prior mail-house experience required (machine operation experience preferred) — we provide full on-the-job training.

Inkjet operation:

Set up, run, and monitor our inkjet addressing systems that print names, addresses, barcodes, and indicia onto mail pieces. Load stock onto the feeder, load and verify the correct data file for each job, adjust head position and spacing, monitor print quality and legibility throughout the run, clear jams and misfeeds, verify counts, and perform basic operator maintenance including head cleaning, purging, and ink and solvent changes.

Quality and data checks:

Confirm the printed piece matches the job ticket — correct file, correct piece, correct placement. Watch for missing or dropped records, smearing, banding, and misregistration, and pull samples throughout the run.

Handwork:

Handwork is the manual side of mail prep — jobs too small, custom, or irregular for the machines. That includes folding by hand, hand-stuffing envelopes, applying labels or stamps, tabbing self-mailers, collating, banding, and traying finished mail. When the inkjet isn't running or a job calls for it, you'll work with the floor team on handwork.

Floor support:

Help move trays, skids, and supplies; keep your workstation organized; communicate with the floor manager. What We're Looking For Reliable attendance and a steady, focused pace Comfort with repetitive, detail-oriented work over a full shift Mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn our equipment Ability to read job tickets, count accurately, and follow instructions Basic computer comfort — you'll load and select data files at the machine Prior inkjet, press, bindery, or print-production experience is a plus but not required Box truck driving experience is a plus — this role occasionally provides backup driver coverage when needed Training We train from day one. You'll learn machine setup, operation, print-quality troubleshooting, and maintenance alongside our experienced operators and floor manager. Most new hires are running jobs independently within a few weeks. Physical Requirements Stand and walk on a concrete floor for most of an 8-hour shift Lift and carry up to 50 lbs regularly Bend, reach, and twist throughout the day Use hands continuously for fine tasks and machine controls Tolerate production-floor noise, paper dust, and ink and solvent odors Push and pull loaded mail carts and skids Pay & Benefits $15.00/hour Overtime paid at 1.5x the regular rate when needed Health insurance Vision insurance Retirement plan Paid time off
