Pay:

$13.00-$17.00 per hour (based on experience) About the Position Tennessee Charcoal is seeking a reliable and motivated Afterburner Operator to join our production team. This position is responsible for monitoring our afterburners and charcoal kilns throughout the night to ensure safe and efficient operation. No prior experience is required—we provide on-the-job training for the right candidate. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working independently, takes pride in doing the job right, and is dependable. Responsibilities Monitor afterburners to ensure minimum operating temperature requirements are maintained. Add feedstock to afterburners as needed to maintain proper temperatures. Monitor kiln vents throughout the shift. Close and seal kiln vents at the appropriate stage of the charcoal-making process. Complete required kiln and afterburner production paperwork accurately. Maintain a clean and safe work area. Follow all company safety procedures and operating guidelines. Qualifications No experience required—we will train the right candidate. Must be dependable and maintain good attendance. Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision. Must be willing to work outdoors in varying weather conditions. Must be safety-conscious and able to follow written and verbal instructions. Must be able to operate a chainsaw safely. Physical Requirements Lift and carry up to 50 pounds. Walk and stand for extended periods. Work outdoors in varying weather conditions, including heat, cold, and rain. Perform physically demanding work throughout a 12-hour shift.
