We design, manufacture, and ship from our headquarters in La Conner, Washington. We are growing — and our production team needs to grow with us! The Jewelry Assembly Technical Lead serves as the technical expert for all assembly in production, ensuring work is performed safely, consistently, efficiently, and in accordance with GLDN quality standards. This role is a subject matter expert that partners closely with Production leadership to maintain technical excellence, develop team capability, improve processes, and support operational success. Responsibilities Technical Excellence Serve as the technical expert and primary resource for all Assembly processes, tools, materials, and best practices. Own the readiness of the Assembly department, ensuring makers, processes, tools, materials, inventory, and workflows are prepared to meet daily production goals. Supervise and maintain quality assurance and process consistency across all Assembly functions. Provide technical coaching and support to makers while promoting consistency and continuous improvement. Maintain inventory, supplies, tools, and equipment for Assembly functions while following GLDN ordering processes and supporting Inventory Control with inventory counts and related responsibilities. Report end-of-day scrap logging, investigate technical causes of scrap, and recommend improvements to reduce waste and improve quality. Coordinate Assembly order flow by sorting, prioritizing, and managing work entering and leaving Assembly. Coordinate Assembly premade creation and delegation to support Ready To Ship (RTS) inventory. Training & Development Train GLDN makers in all Assembly technical processes. Supports cross-training opportunities within Assembly (PASS & Metals) as needed. Supports competency tracking for makers within the department. Recommend improvements to and maintain training processes, quality, and efficiency standards. Support New Product Launches by providing technical expertise, testing new processes, and helping prepare the team for successful launches. Leadership & Communication Post waiting on inventory issues (WOIs) for out-of-stock components and help ensure affected orders are released as quickly as inventory becomes available. Support Assembly-related communication through Slack, including locating orders, custom order requests, production updates, and new product launch (NPL) communications. Communicate technical updates, process changes, quality expectations, appreciation, and constructive feedback in the moment. Provide technical skill, quality, cross-training, and productivity feedback to support coaching conversations and performance reviews. Work collaboratively, attend leadership, continuous improvement, and other meetings as requested, providing input and recommendations regarding Assembly functions. Support daily shop organization, safety expectations, and a positive team environment. Work on production while balancing technical leadership responsibilities. Skills and knowledge Encyclopedic understanding of Assembly processes, tools, materials, and quality standards. Understands how Assembly impacts and is impacted by other Production functions and works collaboratively across departments. Skilled at training others with patience, support, and constructive feedback. Demonstrates sound judgment and strong problem-solving skills. Comfortable using computers and standard workplace software (Slack, Pinanga, ODOO, Manufacturing/Fulfillment Software, Google Drive, etc.) and willing to learn new tools as business needs evolve Able to work under high demands with a consistent rate of speed while maintaining quality. Excellent communication, organization, time management, initiative, and follow-through. Reliable and committed to helping the team meet goals and deadlines. Remains approachable, supportive, and solutions-focused. Manages all responsibilities and information with confidentiality, diplomacy, and discretion. Possesses sensitivity and tact in dealing with numerous departments and employees. Requirements and qualifications Leads by example.
