Job Description:
The Production Technician is responsible for ensuring that molding and automation process conditions are optimized to yield good quality product at the standard cycle.
Pay Range:
$22.00

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Optimize injection molding and automation process conditions to produce quality parts at standard cycle times.
  • Independently start up, operate, and troubleshoot 2-3 molding machines, robots, hot runner systems, and auxiliary equipment to resolve process and maintenance issues.
  • Analyze molds, machines, and process parameters to identify root causes of defects and implement corrective actions to prevent non-conforming material.
  • Perform mold changeovers, robot teaching, material loading, and ensure proper documentation is completed accurately.
  • Follow production schedules, work instructions, and quality requirements, including compliance with the Quality Management System (IATF 16949).
  • Conduct required inspections (including Red Rabbit), address red tickets prior to restart, and promptly notify Quality Control of any defects.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area in accordance with 5S standards, PPE requirements, and company policies.
  • Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members while contributing to continuous improvement initiatives in production methods, equipment performance, and product quality.
Job Requirements:
  • Associate or Bachelor's degree in engineering, manufacturing, or related field preferred; or 5-7 years of experience in injection molding or automotive production.
  • Proven experience supervising production teams in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong understanding of injection molding or assembly processes, equipment, and troubleshooting methods.
  • Familiarity with quality management systems (IATF16949, ISO9001).
  • Excellent problem-solving, planning, and organizational skills.
  • Strong communication and team leadership abilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Ability to analyze production data and prepare performance reports using Excel (charts, pivot tables).
  • Experience with Microsoft Teams or similar collaboration tools is a plus.
  • Ensure adherence to company quality and safety procedures.
  • Report and correct any unsafe conditions or quality issues promptly.
  • Promote a zero-defect and safety-first culture among team members.
  • Ability to stand, walk, and move around the production floor for extended periods.
  • Occasionally lift or move up to 50 lbs.
  • Exposure to manufacturing equipment, machinery noise, and occasional use of chemicals.
  • Must wear appropriate PPE in all designated areas.
