Job Description

Slitter Operator We are seeking a reliable Slitter Operator to support daily production operations in a fast-paced aluminum manufacturing environment. This position is responsible for setting up and operating slitting equipment, processing aluminum coils, inspecting finished material, and ensuring products meet customer specifications. Responsibilities Set up and operate slitting equipment to cut aluminum coils to specified widths. Adjust blade positioning, spacers, tension, and machine speeds based on production requirements. Load coils onto the uncoiler and guide finished material onto the recoiler. Operate a forklift to move and position coils and finished material. Inspect finished coils for width, burr levels, edge quality, and surface condition. Use micrometers, calipers, gauges, and tape measures to verify specifications. Perform blade changes, lubrication, alignment checks, and basic machine maintenance. Troubleshoot basic mechanical issues and report larger equipment problems to maintenance. Follow all Lockout/Tagout, PPE, machine guarding, and company safety procedures. Maintain production and quality records as required. Qualifications Previous slitter, coil-processing, or similar metal machine-operating experience is preferred. Experience working with aluminum, steel, or other metal coils is preferred. Familiarity with slitters, uncoilers, recoilers, tension control, and machine setup is a plus. Experience using micrometers, calipers, gauges, or other measuring tools. Forklift experience is preferred. Basic mechanical troubleshooting skills. Ability to read work orders, blueprints, and technical drawings. Strong attention to quality, safety, and detail. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in a heavy industrial manufacturing environment.
Pay:
$22.00 - $25.00 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 - 50.0 per week
