Blow Molding Set-Up Technician

Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a skilled Blow Molding Set-Up Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for mold changes, machine setup, advanced troubleshooting, and ensuring production runs efficiently while maintaining quality standards. This role requires strong mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical troubleshooting knowledge, attention to detail, and the ability to work within a fast paced production environment. Candidates with experience in extrusion blow molding manufacturing, are encouraged to apply. This position offers valuable hands on experience in a dynamic setting. Responsibilities Perform mold changes, machine star-ups/shut-downs, set up, and troubleshoot blow moulding processes. Set and adjust processing parameters to meet production targets Perform routine maintenance and adjustments on equipment to maintain optimal performance Troubleshoot and repair mechanical. hydraulic, pneumatic and basic electrical issues Monitor production processes and make necessary adjustments for consistent output Maintain a clean and organized work area in compliance with safety standards Diagnose process problems and optimize machine performance Minimize downtime through effective root cause analysis Support preventative maintenance activities Complete production and maintenance documentation accurately Skills & Qualifications Minimum 2+ years of blow molding setup experience (extrusion) Mechanical knowledge related to manufacturing equipment and processes Experience operating forklifts and hand tools Strong understanding of basic math for measurements and calculations Excellent problem solving skills with a focus on safety and efficiency Proven experience troubleshooting mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems Knowledge of plastics materials (HDPE, LDPE, PP) is an advantage Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and machine documentation Comfortable working in a fast paced manufacturing environment Ability to lift and stand for extended periods of time
