Weld Mill Operator (2nd & 3rd Shift) Full-Time | Temp-to-Hire We are seeking dependable and mechanically inclined Weld Mill Operators to join our manufacturing team.

11:00 PM - 7:00 AM This is a full-time, temp-to-hire opportunity with a growing manufacturing operation. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical aptitude, the ability to learn complex manufacturing processes, and a commitment to safety and quality. Position Summary The Weld Mill Operator is responsible for achieving production, quality, and safety goals while operating and supporting tube welding mill equipment. This position requires a hands-on individual who can troubleshoot equipment, perform inspections, utilize measuring tools, and help ensure products meet quality standards. Candidates must have strong general mechanical skills and be comfortable using measuring instruments such as micrometers, tape measures, and other inspection tools . Essential Responsibilities Follow all plant safety procedures and actively participate in safety initiatives. Maintain a clean and organized work area while supporting continuous improvement efforts. Monitor production processes and take corrective action as needed to meet quality and productivity goals. Execute production schedules to support on-time customer delivery. Learn and follow company policies, work instructions, and manufacturing procedures. Perform basic equipment maintenance, preventative maintenance tasks, and troubleshooting activities. Participate in team-based problem solving and continuous improvement initiatives. Communicate effectively with team members and leadership to support operational excellence. Primary Duties Operate tube welding mills safely and efficiently to meet production and quality standards. Setup, adjust, and monitor continuous tube weld mill operations. Assist with mill setups, adjustments, and equipment changeovers. Perform required destructive and non-destructive quality inspections. Prepare and install rolls, clamps, mandrels, bars, electrodes, and related tooling. Maintain tooling, supplies, and operating records. Ensure continuous supply of strip steel to welding operations. Perform splice welds as required for continuous production. Operate overhead cranes safely. Complete departmental standard work instructions. Support hazardous waste management procedures. Perform additional duties as assigned. Qualifications High school diploma or GED preferred. Previous manufacturing experience preferred. Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills required. Ability to read, write, and perform basic math calculations. Ability to learn manufacturing equipment, processes, and production techniques. Experience using measuring equipment such as micrometers and tape measures preferred. Strong communication skills and ability to work in a team-oriented environment. Detail-oriented with a focus on quality, safety, and productivity. Work Environment Manufacturing environment with moderate to high noise levels. Exposure to dust, fumes, smoke, and airborne particles within OSHA-approved limits. Personal protective equipment (PPE) is required and provided. Safety training will be provided. Physical Requirements Stand and walk for the duration of the shift. Frequently bend, squat, kneel, crouch, reach, twist, and work in confined spaces. Climb stairs and access manufacturing equipment as needed. Regular use of hands for operating equipment and handling materials. Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds occasionally. Must possess the visual ability to inspect products and equipment, including close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and focus adjustment. Why Apply?
