POSITION DEFINITION

Temporary Water Distribution Operator I Accountability The Temporary Water Distribution Operator I is an entry-level position and is considered to be in a training status requiring immediate to general supervision.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Learns to perform the various tasks associated with the maintenance and operation of a water distribution system.\nLearns the proper use of tools and equipment required to perform the job.\nUnder direction, participates in the installation, repairs and replacement of water mains, water services, valves, fire hydrants and water meters.\nInteracts with customers and acts as a representative of the Company.\nPerforms meter reads, ons and offs and field investigations.\nPerforms collection activities of delinquent accounts.\nParticipates in routine maintenance activities such as system flushing, valve exercising and fire hydrant maintenance.\nUnder direction, follows established policies and procedures in repair of equipment to ensure proper working order.\nOperates company vehicles and equipment according to established safety procedures and policies.\nPerforms other duties as assigned.\nAvailable for emergency response, 24 hours/day, seven days/week.\nWorks under immediate supervision.

MINIMUM POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
