Job Summary Under the general supervision of the Operations Manager, the CHP Facility Plant Operator/Maintenance Technician operates, repairs, maintains, and troubleshoots all assigned equipment, performing preventive, predictive, and emergency maintenance. This role installs new repair parts and performs other related duties as assigned. Duties and Responsibilities Clean, maintain, and repair a natural gas power generation facility equipped with CAT engines, generators, Heat Recovery Steam Generators (HRSG), and all associated electrical and mechanical equipment. Serve on call as needed to respond to alarms after hours and on weekends. Inform the supervisor or other authority of facility maintenance and operating problems. Assist in determining new equipment, needed repairs, inventory, and replacement parts; research vendors to locate necessary items, determine compatibility, and obtain competitive prices as directed; maintain adequate supplies and equipment. Inspect mechanical equipment installed by contractors to ensure safe and satisfactory functioning. Assist with preparing, interpreting, and maintaining required reports, manuals, and records. Maintain instruction manuals, shop drawings, O&M manuals, and other documentation for power and steam generation equipment. Prepare required reports, daily logs, time sheets, and work orders. Perform preventive, predictive, normal, and emergency maintenance and inspections on all facility equipment. Ensure proper safety techniques and equipment are used to promote a safe job site; maintain a safe, clean, and orderly work area. Respond to after-hours shutdowns and issues as needed. Demonstrate continuous effort to improve operations, decrease turnaround times, streamline work processes, and work cooperatively to provide quality, seamless customer service. Coordinate assigned services and activities with other trade and maintenance contractors, as well as safety and operations personnel at the adjacent processing facility; coordinate between management and operations staff; prioritize work requests and work orders. Objectives of the Position Efficiently and effectively operate and maintain the Caterpillar natural gas-powered engines and power generators (3), Heat Recovery Steam Generators (HRSGs), switchgear, and associated equipment. Schedule and coordinate major repairs and maintenance completed by the local CAT dealer and local trade contractors. Required Qualifications Minimum of 3-5 years' experience with heavy machinery, diesel engines, controls, industrial maintenance, and/or oil and gas operations. Desired Skills and Characteristics Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing, including producing clearly organized written documents with proper grammar, punctuation, and sentence construction. Ability to communicate orally with co-workers, manufacturer's representatives, public utility employees, plant employees, and the public — in person or by telephone. Ability to work safely without presenting a direct threat to self or others. Proficient use of computer systems and word processing software. Proficient analytical, decision-making, problem-solving, and planning/organizing skills. General understanding of gas piping and machinery maintenance. Proficient knowledge of mechanical systems. Basic electrical knowledge up to 12,500 volts (qualified electricians handle all electrical work). Knowledge of pipe fittings and valves. Ability to read and understand blueprints and technical drawings. Ability to review and understand engineering specifications and plans for new equipment and facilities. Knowledge of OSHA regulations regarding machinery safety systems. Knowledge of rotating machinery, including pumps, drives, gears, bearings, seals, alignment procedures, and fluid machines. Knowledge of low-voltage control systems. Knowledge of SCADA interface hardware. Knowledge of power and hand tools. Knowledge of laser alignment techniques (ideal but not required). Ability to use maintenance management software. Ability to convert units of measure. Equipment Used Hand and power tools, mechanic hand tools, computer, printer, copier, telephone, and various other instruments and tools associated with this job discipline. Physical Requirements The physical demands described are representative of those that must be met to successfully perform the essential duties of this job. Ability to lift and carry up to 75 lbs., and push and pull up to 150 lbs. Ability to distinguish objects in low and bright light, using visual capacity including peripheral vision, depth perception, color vision, and far and near acuity, in order to observe all elements of an operational zone and document information/results. Frequently walks, stands, balances, climbs, crawls, grasps, squats, bends, kneels, reaches above and below shoulder height, twists, feels, pulls, and endures repetitive motions. Ability to use hands to operate various pieces of equipment and vehicles, using hand-eye coordination in handling and manipulating objects, tools, controls, and equipment. Ability to work outdoors when needed in a variety of weather conditions. Environmental Requirements Work is typically performed indoors around large-frame heavy equipment, with double hearing protection required and hot ambient/process conditions. Some outdoor operation is required daily, with potential exposure to all weather elements, dust, and airborne particles. Work is sometimes performed in confined areas. There is potential exposure to natural gas, water, steam, poor lighting, high voltage, and heavy equipment. The noise level inside the cogeneration building is moderately loud; double hearing protection must be worn when inside the generator room. Additional Perks CAT training Tool allowance

$35.00 - $45.00 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 - 55.0 per week
