The Technical Coordinator MRI reflects the mission, vision, and values of NM, adheres to the organization's Code of Ethics and Corporate Compliance Program, and complies with all relevant policies, procedures, guidelines and all other regulatory and accreditation standards.

Responsibilities:

Essential FunctionsDesigns and coordinates orientation programs for the technical and assistantpersonnel.

Trains technical staff in applying clinical protocols and techniques.

Develops training programs to apply evolving radiology techniques.

Provides and coordinates technical in-service education programs to develop stafftechnically, educationally, and professionally.

Provides technical assessment of job performance for employee performanceappraisals.

Assists in the development of departmental and institutional policies and proceduresin relation to technical standards and compliance.

Coordinates/communicates equipment service and preventative maintenanceschedule/QM program. Collaborates with physicists to determine corrective action ifneeded.

Participates in monthly staff meetingsDevelops rapport with Radiation Safety Officer (RSO) to ensure compliance with allregulatory agencies and radiation safety standards, where applicable.

Participates in new product review and evaluation. Coordinates supply orderingprocess with staff.

Performs other duties as it appliesMaintains clinical status and staffs the unit if/when neededLeadership/Personal DevelopmentFunctions as the technical "subject matter expert" for the section.

Maintains current knowledge of all radiology imaging and patient care equipment inthe section based on industry standards, regulatory requirements, and manufacturerrecommendations.

Monitors equipment log related to service and preventative maintenance to ensurecompliance with required service and maintenance schedules.

Reports incidences of equipment failure, irregularities in equipment performance andequipment items in disrepair to the manager.

Facilitates service calls to proper repair company for correction of the incident.

Maintains communication with all radiologists to assure quality of service.

Trains technical staff in applying clinical protocols and keeps them abreast ofevolving techniques.

Collaborates with the manager and medical director to develop technicalassessment of job performance for employee performance appraisals, utilizingobjective, measurable criteria.

Effective communication and interpersonal skillsQualityActively participates in the departmental Quality Improvement PlanManages the departmental Radiation Safety ProgramOversees technical quality standardsParticipates in formal and informal process improvement and problem solving toenhance the quality of service to customersCollects data to support the measurement and tracking components of quality management.

This position is full-time, 80 hours per pay period, day shift, 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, no weekends, no holidays.

QualificationsMinimum Requirements:

Education:

Graduate of an accredited school/college of Radiologic Technology.

Graduated from an accredited educational program in radiography or radiation therapy,

Licensure:

State of Illinois Department of Nuclear Safety License (IDNS/IEMA) required for those in

DiagnosticCertification:

CPR BLS certification through American Heart Association (AHA)Certification based on modality/department:

Certification and registration by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) in Radiography, Nuclear Medicine Technology, Radiation Therapy, Magnetic Resonance Imaging, Sonography or Mammography (clinical and technical competence in mammography to meet MQSA requirements)

• OR•Certification by the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) in Sonography or Vascular Technology•OR•Certification by the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB) in Nuclear Medicine•OR•ARMRIT certification.

 

Experience:

 Magnetic resonance, nuclear medicine, or diagnostic medical sonography.

Imaging (xray), CT, Mammography, Interventional Radiology, and Nuclear Medicine.

Preferred:
