Job Description

Summary:
This Maintenance Operator position performs skilled, semi-skilled, technical and/or manual labor work, including rebuilding and repairing machinery/mechanical equipment such as pumps, motors, gearboxes, blowers, valves, belt presses, mixers, filters, chlorination systems, lift stations, wells and gates. Other duties include troubleshooting electrical systems ranging from 110 to 12,470 volts and various direct current voltages; HVAC system repairs; operation of heavy equipment and vehicles; and building/grounds maintenance. This position requires emergency, after-hours response.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED equivalent required. Training in mechanical systems, electrical systems, HVAC, building trades, or equipment maintenance preferred. Although no experience is required, preferred candidate will have one to two years of responsible experience in one of the areas above as well as a basic knowledge of mathematical principles and computer-controlled systems. Must possess or have ability to obtain valid Kansas Commercial Driver's License. The successful candidate must pass the City background check post-offer City physical and drug screen.
