Plant Operator - Anaerobic Digestion & RNG (Biogas Upgrading) Company Overview De Saegher Energy is a leader in renewable natural gas (RNG) production, specializing in manure-based anaerobic digestion and advanced biogas upgrading. We convert agricultural waste into pipeline-quality renewable energy while supporting sustainability and rural communities. Our operations prioritize safety, uptime, and performance. Position Summary We are seeking a dependable, mechanically inclined Plant Operator to help operate and optimize our anaerobic digestion and renewable natural gas (RNG) facility. The ideal candidate enjoys troubleshooting equipment, solving problems, and taking ownership of plant performance. While experience in RNG, anaerobic digestion, or gas processing is valuable, we recognize these skills are highly specialized and are willing to train the right individual with a strong mechanical background and a desire to build a long-term career with our team. Key Responsibilities Operate and optimize anaerobic digesters and gas upgrading systems Monitor and adjust key parameters: pressure, temperature, flows, methane recovery, CO2 rejection Operate and maintain multi-stage membrane systems (compression, filtration, separation) Troubleshoot mechanical, process, and instrumentation issues Perform inspections and identify issues before failure Conduct sampling and testing (TS, VS, gas quality, H2S, CH4, CO2, O2) Maintain compressors, pumps, blowers, valves, and related equipment Log data and monitor performance through SCADA Manage manure feedstock and digestate systems Maintain safe and clean facility Required Qualifications Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting ability Experience working with equipment, machinery, industrial systems, agriculture, manufacturing, construction, or related fields Ability to learn and understand technical processes Strong work ethic and attention to detail Ability to work independently and as part of a team Willingness to participate in rotating shifts and on-call coverage Valid driver's license Preferred Experience Experience in any of the following is beneficial but not required: Anaerobic digestion or renewable natural gas (RNG) operations Industrial maintenance Wastewater treatment Agriculture or livestock operations Gas processing systems SCADA systems Equipment operation (loader, skid steer, telehandler, etc.) Electrical, mechanical, or process-control systems We are willing to train the right candidate who demonstrates mechanical ability, reliability, and a desire to grow with the company.
