127954 (or) 127953\nJOB SUMMARY\n•This job is being posted across two skill levels (Level I) and (Level II). Applicants will only be considered for the higher of the two levels in which they qualify. •Responsible to control and maintain auxiliary equipment, such as pumps, fans, compressors, condensers, feedwater heaters, filters, and chlorinators, that supply water, fuel, lubricants, air, and auxiliary power for turbines, generators, boilers, and other power-generating plant facilities.

May be responsible for monitoring and operating controls in the centralized control room of the power plant to control the loading and operation of generating units and associated equipment under supervision.

LEVEL OF RESPONSIBILITY

Performs responsibilities with standardized processes. Works under general supervision. Resolves routine questions and problems using basic principles of field. Refers the more complex issues to higher levels. Generally follows established procedures to accomplish requirements of job. Some latitude for deviation.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Assists in the training and mentoring of less experienced team members.\nParticipate in control operations training to perform the duties of a Senior Plant Operator (control room).\nMonitors, operates and checks Auxiliary equipment.\nIdentifies abnormal Auxiliary equipment operations.\nTakes corrective action and/or initiates requests for equipment repair.\nMonitors, analyzes and performs boiler and cooling water chemistry tests.\nKeeps logs, records data and verbally communicates plant conditions.\nUtilizes SAP/PM system for equipment history and verification of work performed.\nExecutes clearance procedures.\nFollows all safety and environmental rules and regulations.\nRepairs, inspects and maintains boiler and boiler auxiliaries, turbine/generator auxiliaries, also fuel supply equipment and auxiliaries, if applicable.\nPerforms general craft tasks, operates various industrial equipment, and uses power hand tools.\nReads and interprets drawings and prints.\nWorks with other craft and plant personnel as required.\nContinually seeks process improvement to save cost and increase efficiency.\nRelieves Senior Plant Operator (control room), as needed, with supervision.\nPerforms LOTO (Lock out tag out) management using SAP Work Clearance Management (WCM) system.\nAll other duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS

\nLEVEL I Associate's Degree in a technical discipline; Or\nHigh School Diploma/GED And 1 year experience in a technical field; Or\nA certificate of completion from a vocational trade institution in a technical field; Or\nPrior military service for at least one enlistment as documented on DD Form 214.

LEVEL II

Associate's Degree in a technical discipline, And 1 year experience in a technical field; Or\nHigh School Diploma/GED And 3 years experience in a technical field; Or\nPrior military service for at least one enlistment as documented on DD Form 214, And 2 years experience in a technical field; Or\nHigh School Diploma/GED And 1 Direct Plant experience at the same power plant and successful completion of Board Review.\nA certificate of completion from a vocational trade institution in a technical field is equivalent to 1 year of technical experience.\nExperience must include 1 year experience in a power plant or other process controlled environment including oil/gas/chemical refining and/or processing or manufacturing.\n

WORKING CONDITIONS

Required to carry pager and/or cell phone while on call and responding to call outs, potentially including weekends and holidays.\nMay be required to work beyond normal 40-hour workweek.\nSubject to operating personal computer for extended periods.\nRequires occasional travel primarily via automobile (some overnight) to remote locations throughout the system to monitor operations equipment and activities.\nMust be able to move about on foot and follow safety, emergency response procedures and regulations.\nMust possess Operator Qualification modules within a specified time determined by organization upon job entry.\nMust complete required Process Safety Management Training within a specified time determined by organization upon job entry.
