POSITION PURPOSE
This position provides corporate oversight and governance for radiological program areas for TVA's nuclear fleet. The Senior Program Managers (SPM) function is to monitor and manage metrics, processes and performance oversight to their areas of expertise to ensure activities are being conducted in accordance with appropriate regulations and TVA policies, programs, and procedures; technical Specifications; and federal, state, and local regulations. The SPM's report to the RP CFAM and are accountable for fleet performance in the respective areas.
JOB DIMENSIONS
Supervisory Responsibility — None, however the position does work closely with site equivalent roles and have decision-making ability for activities in various program areas. RP CFAM is expected to also be engaged in the decision making. Budget Responsibility — As applicable
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
Serve as the peer team leader for the radiological technical working groups Support development and oversight of functional area technical programs, policies, and processes utilizing assessment reports, performance metrics, and peer groups to assess the health of programs, policies, and processes consistent with industry standards and all state, local and federal regulations. Support and maintain fleet-wide best practices and develop TVA Nuclear fleet standardized policies, programs, processes, and department description for their functional area. Ensure the sharing of "best practices" and operational experience among industry peers, the nuclear sites, and functional areas, driving to industry top quartile performance. Support Radiation Protection Peer Team initiatives for the fleet. Assist peers to ensure consistency across the fleet and that efficiency gains can be achieved by leveraging the resources of the entire fleet. Evaluates internal and external dosimetry programs for regulator compliance, industry excellence, and accurate dose reporting Ensure the sharing of "best practices" and operational experience among industry peers, the nuclear sites, and functional areas, driving to industry top quartile performance Maintain a fleet action tracking repository to share learnings and drive fleet improvements. No site left behind. Takes on additional responsibilities as assigned by the RP CFAM
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Education — Bachelor's degree in science or engineering or the equivalent or equivalent training and experience. Formal training in radiation protection. Experience — 10 years experience in the nuclear industry including five in a position directly related to the responsibility of the position and five years of experience in a supervisory or management position. Certification/License, etc — Certification in Health Physics part 1 and/or 2 is preferred. Knowledge/Skills/Abilities — Knowledge of nuclear plant health physics and radiation protection. Must have demonstrated successful leadership skills. Must be able to obtain and maintain unescorted nuclear plant access. Candidate must be able to serve as a corporate duty manager and serve on the emergency response organization.
