The ideal candidate will possess a strong technical background in 3D printing technology, laboratory techniques, and digital design for limb prosthetics. As a 3D Printer Technician, you will be responsible for operating, maintaining, and troubleshooting state-of-the-art 3D printers used in the fabrication of orthoses and prostheses. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to innovative orthotic and prosthetic solutions through precise additive manufacturing processes, ensuring high-quality outcomes for patients. Duties Operate and calibrate 3D printers used for dental prosthetic fabrication, ensuring optimal performance and accuracy. Prepare digital files using CAD (Computer-Aided Design) and CAM (Computer-Aided Manufacturing) software for precise printing of dental restorations. Monitor print jobs throughout the process, troubleshooting issues related to print quality, material feed, or equipment malfunctions. Maintain detailed records of print parameters, materials used, and production outcomes in accordance with medical documentation standards. Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of 3D printing equipment to ensure consistent quality and longevity of devices. Collaborate with dental laboratory technicians and prosthodontists to refine digital designs for custom prosthetic fabrication. Implement infection control protocols during equipment handling and material processing to adhere to safety standards. Stay updated on emerging 3D printing technologies, materials, and best practices relevant to dental applications. Requirements Proven experience operating and maintaining 3D printers within a dental or medical laboratory environment. Strong knowledge of CAD/CAM software, including digital design for dental prosthetics and full arch restorations. Familiarity with laboratory techniques such as dental fabrication, ceramic processing, and removable prosthodontics. Understanding of dental anatomy, terminology, implantology, and implant prosthodontics principles. Experience with medical imaging data integration and the use of micrometers or other precision measurement tools. Knowledge of infection control procedures specific to medical device manufacturing environments. Ability to interpret technical drawings, medical documentation, and patient assessment reports accurately. Excellent problem-solving skills with the capacity to troubleshoot complex equipment issues efficiently. Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in record-keeping and quality assurance processes. Prior laboratory experience in dental or medical device manufacturing is highly desirable.
