Set up and operate machinery for sheet metal fabrication processes. Verify dimensions and tolerances of workpieces using precision measuring tools. Select, position, and align dies in the machine ram and bed for forming operations. Secure dies and adjust machine settings for pressure and clearance based on metal thickness. Position and align sheet metal workpieces manually or with a crane, using layout marks. Identify and report defective materials, equipment issues, or unusual conditions to the supervisor. Maintain accurate job records by updating travelers and entering data as required. Keep work areas, machines, and tools clean, organized, and in safe working condition. Follow all safety protocols and quality standards related to sheet metal fabrication.
Physical Requirements:
Lift up to 25 lbs as needed. Push up to 60 lbs and carry up to 20 lbs over short distances (approx. 2 feet). Load and unload sheet metal materials. Walk approximately 10% of the time; remain stationary about 85%. Occasionally kneel, squat, or bend (approx. 5%).
Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED required. Minimum experience in sheet metal fabrication is required. Understanding of production and manufacturing processes. Detail-oriented with strong analytical and numerical skills. Willingness to work flexible hours, including early mornings, late evenings, weekends, and overtime. Team player with a strong work ethic and commitment to quality.
