THIRD SHIFT
Micro Metals is seeking an experienced Brake Press Operator to join our Fab Shop team. This position is responsible for setting up and operating CNC press brakes to produce quality sheet metal parts according to blueprints, work orders, and production requirements. What You'll Do
  • Read and interpret blueprints, work orders, bend notes, and specifications.
  • Set up CNC press brakes, including selecting and installing punches and dies.
  • Enter bend sequences, angles, tonnage, and back-gauge positions.
  • Perform safe and efficient tooling changeovers.
  • Inspect first-piece and completed parts using calipers, angle gauges, protractors, tape measures, and other measuring tools.
  • Make necessary machine adjustments to meet required specifications and tolerances.
  • Identify and troubleshoot forming issues, including springback, angle variation, and part squareness.
  • Safely load, unload, move, and stage materials and finished parts.
  • Complete production paperwork, quantity counts, quality checks, and scrap reporting.
  • Perform basic deburring, cleaning, labeling, and staging as needed.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area.
  • Report equipment, quality, and safety concerns promptly.
  • Assist other team members as needed to meet production goals. What We're Looking For
  • Two years of press brake experience preferred.
  • Experience setting up and operating CNC press brakes.
  • Ability to read blueprints and understand tolerances and bend requirements.
  • Experience using common measuring and inspection tools.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail.
  • Ability to troubleshoot basic setup and forming issues.
  • Reliable attendance and the ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Positive, team-oriented attitude.
  • High school diploma, GED, trade school education, or equivalent experience. Physical Requirements
  • Ability to stand for extended periods.
  • Frequent bending, reaching, stooping, kneeling, and material handling.
  • Ability to frequently and repetitively lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to safely wear all required personal protective equipment.
