SUMMARY Challenge has openings on first or second shift for this positions Sets up, operates, and maintains,Amada CNC press brake, Amada CNC Laser and similar equipment used to fabricate production sheet metal parts for commercial cooking appliances and other products/applications, by performing the following duties
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Performs documented repeat setups (e.g. installs and aligns punches, dies and forming tools; sets stop and clamp positions) on all types of sheet metal fabricating equipment used in production, including ,Amada CNC press brakes and Amada CNC Lasers. Readies equipment for operation by powering up and, as applicable to specific equipment to be operated, initialing control and tool/slide positions, and selecting/activating part program identified in work instructions. Loads and aligns part/material in machine and executes cycle to perform production part fabrication operation. Separates parts and trims, deburrs, or smooths edges or surfaces, as required, to ensure proper fit, form and function. Inspects workpiece for conformance to dimensional/geometric specifications, and to verify setups, using common measuring devices such as scales, calipers and squares and utilizing simple engineering drawings, and inspects for conformance to other established specifications such as appearance criteria. Maintains equipment tooling by performing routine adjustments or by requesting service or replacement, as applicable and required to ensure continued conformance to product specifications and operating requirements. Records production and quality assurance data, such as part numbers, quantities, serial numbers, and inspection measurements/results, on designated forms, tags, charts or records. Performs all job activities in accordance with training, work instructions, and established company procedures. Maintains work area (equipment, tools, etc.) in a neat and orderly manner.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, feel or grip; and reach with hands and arms. The employee frequently is required to stoop, and to talk and hear. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts. The employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud, depending on the specific type of equipment being operated.
