Laser/Press Break Operator Overview Responsible for operating the CO2 laser and staging the cut sheet stock on carts so that it can move to next function upon completion. Maintain the laser consumables as well as overall cleanliness in the work area. Organize all sheet stock and drop materials in their respective locations and keep area clear of clutter. Qualifications Experience in operating a CO2 Laser. Must be able to interpret blueprints, shop drawings, and other written/verbal instructions. Knowledge and understanding of working with Aluminum, Stainless Steel, and Mild Steel (able to determine material types and gauges). Basic mathematical skills; able to read tape measures and caliper. Capable of working in a team environment and utilizing strong problem-solving skills. Ability to operate various pieces of equipment including drill press, vertical band saw, grinders and a multitude of hand tools used in metal fabrication. Able to regularly lift and/or move products and material up to 50 lbs. and work on your feet for extended periods of time. Mandatory that all duties are performed in conjunction with OSHA and MIOSHA requirements. Responsibilities Timely attendance. Load and unload sheet stock onto laser and cut according to program files. Set up laser accordingly to each program run. Tag drop material and put in excess drop locations. Work in accordance with all procedures and instructions identified; complete required paperwork and computer entries as required - ensure accuracy of all entries. Maintain clean work environment and keep tools in good working order. Support in creating efficient ways to fabricate products. Perform other duties as assigned. Load and unload sheet stock onto shear and cut according to print and cut sheet. This is a 40-hour work week. Monday through Friday 6:00am - 2:30pm. Overtime available 2:30pm-4:30pm daily and Saturdays 6:00am to 11:00am.
