Job Description

  • Job Title: Press Brake Operator
  • Job Description
  • This role is ideal for an experienced press brake operator who enjoys working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment on 2nd or 3rd shift. You will form metal stock on an industrial press brake, accurately following blueprints and work orders while setting up the machine and tooling to meet or exceed customer specifications and productivity goals.
  • Responsibilities
  • + Locate and verify that the correct material is delivered to the work center before starting each job.

+ Confirm that the press brake and related equipment are operating properly and safely.

+ Ensure the appropriate nesting program is loaded and delivered to the work center for each work order.

+ Verify that the nesting program matches the blueprint and work order specifications.

+ Set and apply the correct gas, speed, and consumables to achieve precise and consistent results.

+ Accurately project completion times for work orders at the work center and communicate status as needed.

+ Complete all assigned jobs on time and to specification, maintaining high quality standards.

+ Stage completed jobs correctly and organize materials and parts for downstream processes.

+ Maintain a clean, orderly, and safe working environment throughout the shift.

+ Immediately report any issues, malfunctions, or concerns with the machine or tooling to appropriate personnel.

+ Perform additional related duties as assigned to support production and team goals.

  • Essential Skills
  • + At least 1 year of hands-on experience with press brake operation.

+ Ability to set up and indicate vices and related tooling on the press brake.

+ General knowledge of plate bending operations and forming techniques.

+ Ability to read and interpret blueprints, prints, and schematics accurately.

+ Proficiency in using measuring devices such as tape measures, calipers, micrometers, and other precision tools.

+ Experience with CNC press brake operation and machine setup.

+ Ability to operate sheet metal fabrication equipment such as punch presses, shear presses, and other related machinery.

+ Basic machine operation skills in a manufacturing or fabrication environment.

+ Ability to use measuring tools for quality checks and assembly verification.

+ Capability to operate a forklift safely (if required for material movement).

+ Preferred ability to communicate in both English and Spanish.

  • + Strong blueprint reading skills for sheet metal and fabrication work.

+ Familiarity with schematics and work orders in a production environment.

+ Experience working with sheet metal in a fabrication or manufacturing setting.

+ Comfort using a variety of measuring tools for precise inspection and quality control.

+ Background in assembly work within a manufacturing or fabrication facility.

+ Understanding of CNC programming and nesting concepts for press brake operations.

+ Attention to detail and commitment to meeting customer specifications and productivity targets.

+ Reliability in meeting deadlines and completing assignments accurately.

+ Ability to work independently while contributing positively to a team-focused environment.

  • Work Environment
  • This position is based in a fabrication shop environment where you will work directly with industrial press brakes and related metalworking equipment.

The role requires the ability to lift up to 100 pounds, stand for prolonged periods, and perform physical activities such as bending, kneeling, and stooping throughout the shift. You will be exposed to typical shop elements, including noise, dust, and odors. Operators are needed on 1st shift (6:00 a.m.-2:30 p.m.) and 2nd shift (2:30 p.m.-11:00 p.m.), with a shift differential available for eligible second-shift full-time employees. Appropriate work attire for a fabrication shop, including safety-conscious clothing and personal protective equipment, is expected to ensure a safe and professional environment.

  • This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Fort Worth, TX.
  • Pay and Benefits
  • The pay range for this position is $18.

00 - $22.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your jobclassification and length of employment.
