If you want a career home where your craft is valued and your development is prioritized, this could be your next move. A Day in Your Life Here You start by reviewing prints and work instructions, mapping out the best approach for each part. You'll choose tooling, dial in machine settings, and move between forming, cutting, drilling, deburring, and assembly. Throughout the day, you verify dimensions with calipers, micrometers, scales, and gauges, log production details, and collaborate with engineering, production, and quality to resolve drawing or fabrication questions. You keep your area organized, follow all PPE and equipment safety procedures, and uphold AS9100 and company quality standards. Before the day ends, you perform mechanical assembly tasks—countersinking, riveting, fastening—and inspect the final result to confirm it meets spec. What You'll Work On Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, specifications, and work instructions. Perform layout, measurement, forming, bending, cutting, drilling, deburring, and assembly on sheet metal. Set up and operate fabrication equipment: press brakes, shears, punches, saws, drills, and related machinery. Select appropriate tooling and determine correct machine settings for each job. Fabricate components to precise dimensions and tolerances. Use precision measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, scales, gauges) to verify accuracy. Conduct drilling, countersinking, riveting, fastening, and other mechanical assembly work. Identify drawing/fabrication issues and communicate with supervisors, engineering, and quality. Accurately complete all required production and job documentation. Follow established quality procedures and AS9100 requirements.
