Shift:
6:00 AM-3:00 PM M-Th; 6:00 AM-12:00 PM Fri | Contract to Hire About the Role This hands-on metal fabrication role safely sets up and operates equipment used to drill, grind, sand, tap, cut, perform PEM operations, bend, or straighten metal for manufacturing needs. You will work from work orders, production schedules, and blueprints; install punches, dies, and fixtures; and monitor machine operation to produce accurate parts. Quality is a major part of the job. You will perform first-piece inspections, measure completed work with micrometers, gauges, calipers, templates, or tape measures, make machine adjustments as needed, and support preventative maintenance and material handling when required. Key Responsibilities
Set up, operate, and tend machines used to bend or straighten metal material
Read work orders, production schedules, and blueprints to determine materials, bend lines, dimensions, and tolerances
Install, align, and lock punches, dies, and other fixtures using gauges, shims, and hand tools
Position, align, and secure workpieces, guides, stops, holding blocks, and fixtures for accurate forming
Start and monitor machines, record operational data, and make adjustments based on product specifications
Test and adjust machine speeds, actions, and press ram strokes using gauges and hand tools
Perform first-piece inspections, examine parts for defects, and verify completed work with micrometers, gauges, calipers, templates, or tape measures
Plan operation sequences using knowledge of workpiece material properties and production requirements
Perform preventative maintenance on machines when necessary
Operate a forklift, crane, or hoist when necessary and grind burrs or sharp edges as assigned Required Qualifications
High school diploma or GED
No prior experience is required; ability to participate in training and apply new learning on the job
Strong safety awareness with the ability to perform work accurately and pay close attention to detail
Dependable, organized, and accountable approach with sound judgment and problem-solving ability
Ability to listen actively and communicate effectively with others
Ability to work the 1st shift schedule: 6:00 AM-3:00 PM Monday-Thursday and 6:00 AM-12:00 PM Friday Preferred Qualifications
At least one year of manufacturing experience, with press brake experience preferred
Ability to read and interpret blueprints
Experience using calipers and gauges and the ability to read a tape measure
Strong mechanical aptitude
Proficient math skills, specifically geometry and fraction conversion
Pay:
$20.00 - $28.00 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 - 50.0 per week
