Family owned and managed, they partner closely with customers from early prototyping through full-volume production, and are known for taking on complex, precision-driven work that requires real technical expertise. The Opportunity Our client is looking for a hands-on, detail-oriented Machine Set-Up Operator to join their manufacturing team. You'll set up, adjust, and operate precision machinery to manufacture a wide variety of parts to exacting quality standards, with a clear path to growth built into the role. New operators start with guided support, build toward working independently, and experienced operators go on to train others. This is a great fit for someone who takes pride in precision work, enjoys hands-on problem solving with machinery, and wants to build a long-term career with a stable, established manufacturer.
Responsibilities:
Set up, adjust, and operate departmental machinery to produce parts to spec Keep machinery running smoothly and make minor repairs to machine tools as needed Swap out old tooling and install new tooling Use gauges (such as plug gauges) to check parts against quality standards Read and work from blueprints Follow safety, environmental, and housekeeping standards Suggest process improvements as you learn the operation As you grow into the role, help train and support other team members
Requirements:
High school or trade school diploma, or equivalent hands-on experience Solid math skills Ability to read blueprints Strong mechanical aptitude Good communication skills Comfort working with precision gauges Physical requirements: Corrected vision sufficient to read prints and closely inspect parts; manual dexterity for precision machine work; ability to stoop and bend frequently; ability to move parts between positions; ability to lift up to 35 lbs unassisted.
