Full Job Description Responsibilities:
Operating different machine tools such as drill presses, punch presses, plasma/thermal cutters, press brakes, plate rolling Able to rotate between different machines. Set up machines based on program, drawing or shop sketch Prepares the machines prior to production, perform initial test runs producing a part Adjust and makes minor changes to the machinery, tooling and/or program during its operation to meet drawing requirements. Places the metal stock (or unfinished piece of metal) in the machine and removes and stacks finished parts. Works levers, buttons, or foot pedals to bring the cutting/punching or forming tool or drill bit to the stock. Using simple inspection/measuring equipment and other instruments, they test the finished metal part to make sure that the machine tool is working properly. Monitors machine gauges and controls and adjusts pressures, feeds and speeds to maintain quality. Plans and set up the sequence of operations according to blueprints, layouts, or other instructions. Loads program with into the machine's computer controls. Measure/Inspect product to verify drawing compliance and make machine adjustments where and when required. Deburrs all parts and removes all sharp edges using manual or mechanical means Qualifications Previous experience with drill presses, punch presses, press brake required At least two years previous experience operating metal forming or shaping equipment Able to read shop drawings and blueprints. Experience working with computers. Working knowledge of inspection/measuring tools including but not limited to tape measure, verniers and micrometers Hours are: Monday through Thursday 6:30am to 4pm Friday 6:30am to 10:30pm The pay is up to $32.00 an hour based on experience
