Job Description

Job Summary Bay Cast Foundry, LLC is seeking a Finishing Supervisor to lead and oversee our burning, chipping, grinding, and welding operations within the finishing department of our foundry. This individual is responsible for maintaining a safe, productive, and well-organized work environment while supervising a team of approximately 10-12 employees. The ideal candidate is a strong leader with industrial experience who can help plan production, solve problems, and motivate employees to meet operational goals. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Maintain a safe and productive work environment in compliance with company policies and OSHA regulations. Supervise, coordinate, and direct daily finishing operations, including burning, chipping, grinding, and welding. Lead, train, and motivate a team of 10-12 finishing employees. Help plan and schedule production to meet customer and operational requirements. Assign work, communicate priorities, and ensure employees follow instructions and work standards. Identify production, quality, safety, equipment, or staffing issues and take corrective action. Monitor workflow and productivity, addressing bottlenecks and inefficiencies. Help achieve department goals and hold employees accountable for performance and attendance. Communicate effectively with management and other departments regarding progress, challenges, and needs. Serve as a role model for good attendance, communication, and leadership. Perform other duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications Experience Industrial or manufacturing experience required; foundry or heavy industry experience preferred. Previous supervisory or leadership experience. Technical Skills Familiarity with foundry finishing processes, including burning, chipping, grinding, and welding. Working knowledge of OSHA regulations and industrial safety compliance. Ability to help plan, schedule, and prioritize production to meet operational goals. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Proven leadership skills, with the ability to manage and motivate employees. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to follow instructions, enforce procedures, and maintain consistency across the team. Demonstrated problem-solving ability, with a track record of identifying issues and implementing effective solutions. Good attendance and dependability required. Preferred Qualifications Familiarity with welding processes. Physical Demands The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Ability to stand, walk, and move throughout the finishing department for extended periods. Ability to work around foundry equipment, noise, heat, and typical industrial conditions. Ability to bend, reach, and occasionally lift or move materials as needed. Work Environment This role is based on the shop floor within the finishing department, with regular exposure to burning, grinding, welding, and chipping operations, along with associated noise, heat, dust, and fumes typical of foundry finishing work. Required to follow all company and OSHA safety standards and wear personal protective equipment (PPE) as required in the finishing department.
Pay:
$19.00 - $25.00 per hour
