Print Finisher Job Description (Full Time Shift Position)
Print Finishing is one of the most skilled and important roles in a modern print manufacturing environment. The job of the Print Finisher is to take the printed sheets that are produced by various printing processes and convert them into the actual finished product.
The work performed by the finishing department is critical to our success.
As part of the finishing team it is your responsibility to provide the client with a near, professional, product that we can all take pride in. The work that you do will greatly impact the product we deliver. Exceptional finishing can make even less than perfect prints look presentable. Qualifications/Skills Work Orders
Read all instructions carefully.
Make sure you understand exactly what the final product is.
Fill in all required information (meter counts, start and end times, etc.)
Ask questions if anything is not clear. Paper stocks
Familiarize yourself with all the different types, weights, and sizes of our paper inventory. Sample
Show a sample of everything you produce to your supervisor before proceeding with a job. Binding
Know all the different types of binds we offer.
Understand what the finished product should look like
Know how to determine what size spin to use.
Understand the different options for covers.
Be able to safely and effectively use all the equipment. Cutting
Understand cutting dimensions.
Working with crop marks.
Bleeds vs. Non-bleeds Mounting and laminating
Understand how to use the mounting equipment.
Know the various materials we can mount onto.
Know how to prep boards.
Laminated vs. Un-laminated boards.
Neatly cut boards to finished size. Scoring and folding
Understand the different types of folds we offer.
Know when scoring is required
Know how to set-up and use the equipment Assembly
Have knowledge of what the final product should look like
Know how to efficiently and accurately assemble all the components of a given job.
Pay:
$25.00 - $30.00 per hour
