LAMINATOR OPERATOR
$20-$22/HR M-F 5a-130p currently 5a-330p
The Opportunity:
Responsible for all activities associated with running the laminator including setup, operation, production reporting, cleanup, cross training, and recommending improvements to operations. The position holder will report to the Production Supervisor. How you will impact

The Laminator Operator works within a team to operate the Laminator in a safe, efficient and reliable manner. The position holder will follow all pertinent procedures & processes as well as Group Health & Safety standards and rules Primary Duties \u2022 Set-up laminator accurately in accordance with proper setup techniques. \u2022 Inspect labels before running to ensure that label is to specification, particularly trim and registration. \u2022 Maintain and keep the label storage area orderly. Provide inventories for sales management and accounting. \u2022 Monitor corrugated sheet quality, including, but not limited to, loose liner, warp, and correct size. \u2022 Check glue roll for proper glue application. \u2022 Maximize the utilization of equipment by operating the machinery at available capacity and speed. \u2022 Maintain file of Mylars for registration for repeat orders. \u2022 Train and assist Stacker with job duties on the machine. \u2022 Crosstrain on other machines, particularly die cutters. \u2022 Assist with training as needed. \u2022 Complete necessary reports in an accurate and timely manner, including but not limited to: Production Data, Machine Operational Status, Safety Data, Quality Data. \u2022 Turn in maintenance work orders to supervision for needed repairs. Be proactive in the maintenance of equipment. \u2022 Comply with all company policies and procedures, including safety and maintaining good housekeeping. \u2022 Adheres to production schedule. Make recommendations for optimizing the schedule to meet cost, quality and service goals. Reports any unusual scheduling issues to Supervisor. \u2022 Additional duties may be assigned by management.
What you need to succeed:
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Prior work experience in the corrugated industry preferred
  • 6 months of experience in the Press or Finishing department preferred
  • Ability to read and follow instructions on factory masters
  • Able to read a tape measure with speed and accuracy.
  • Able to calculate figures and amounts such as percentages, measurement, volume and rate.
  • Able to apply concepts of high school math.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or graphic form.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving one or more concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Must have working knowledge of the following:
  • Equipment design and capabilities that can be translated into efficient operation.
  • Product layouts and production specifications
  • Product quality specifications
  • Quality standards
  • Capable of prioritizing multiple tasks, showing a sense of urgency
