This is a hands on aircraft build position working closely with manufacturing engineering, design, and quality teams. We are looking for technicians with strong aerospace or aircraft assembly experience who have worked across multiple aircraft systems , rather than candidates whose experience is limited to general production assembly. What You'll Do Read and interpret complex engineering drawings, schematics, modification documents, work instructions, and test procedures. Perform hands on mechanical and structural aircraft assembly in an NPI and prototype environment. Install and align aircraft systems and major components including flight control linkages, actuators, landing gear, structural assemblies, and related mechanical systems . Perform precision assembly using torque specifications, fasteners, sealants, alignment procedures, and calibrated tooling. Perform functional checks, system alignments, and inspections and accurately record build data for traceability. Select and utilize a wide variety of hand tools, power tools, calibrated tools, fixtures, and specialized tooling required for aircraft integration. Independently troubleshoot mechanical and aircraft assembly issues on the shop floor. Perform root cause analysis and execute quick turn repairs, modifications, and rework in partnership with engineering. Support first article, prototype, NPI, and new product development builds , including situations where processes and work instructions are still evolving. Partner directly with manufacturing engineers, design engineers, and quality inspectors to resolve build issues and improve aircraft assembly processes. Follow aircraft safety, tool control, FOD prevention, quality, and documentation requirements. Maintain accurate records for assembly, testing, troubleshooting, repairs, deviations, and modifications. What You Need 5+ years of hands on aerospace and/or aircraft assembly experience strongly preferred. Demonstrated experience performing aircraft mechanical, structural, or systems integration work . Experience working across multiple aircraft components or systems is highly preferred. Strong knowledge of mechanical and structural assembly techniques including fastener installation, torque procedures, sealants, precision alignment, and aircraft hardware . Ability to independently read and work from engineering drawings, technical instructions, and build documentation. Hands on experience with aircraft tooling, calibrated tools, and precision measurement equipment. Experience troubleshooting aircraft or complex mechanical assemblies and working directly with engineering to resolve build issues. Experience in NPI, prototype, experimental, first article, or new aircraft development environments strongly preferred . Knowledge of aircraft safety procedures, tool control, FOD prevention, and applicable aerospace standards. Strong attention to detail and workmanship with the ability to operate in a fast paced environment where priorities and build requirements may change. Associate degree or technical certification in Engineering Technology, Aviation Maintenance, or a related field preferred. Relevant hands on experience may substitute for education. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, work in confined spaces, and perform tasks that may involve exposure to hazardous materials. Preferred Qualifications 5+ years of aerospace or aircraft experience. Broad hands on experience across aircraft structures and aircraft systems . A&P certification or equivalent aviation maintenance experience. Experience with flight controls, actuators, landing gear, aircraft structural installation, or final aircraft integration. Experience supporting experimental aircraft, eVTOL, electric aircraft, prototype aircraft, or aerospace NPI programs. Experience supporting FAA conformity or regulated aircraft manufacturing environments.
