We are currently seeking a Door Builder / Assembler, to work in our interior door division of Woodbury Supply Co Inc in Dayville, CT. Our large, state-of-the-art shop and highly skilled team ensure that we remain leaders in our industry. We specialize in providing a wide range of custom wood products for both residential and commercial uses, with a focus on customer satisfaction and precision. Summary We are looking for a Door Builder / Assembler to join our interior door manufacturing division. Our "interior" shop specializes in hanging interior doors, fabrication of custom frames, prefabricated interior trim packages, along with many other related products for commercial, and residential uses. Essential Functions Measure, cut, and prepare materials according to specifications. Operate door hanging equipment and other wood shop tools. Assemble and build interior doors and related subcomponents. Assembling and preparing interior doors for shipment. Set up machinery to the specifications of each job. Coordinate work with shop foreman and project managers. Maintain high quality standards and attention to detail. Gather and/or fabricate material needed to perform assembly tasks. Assist in shop cleaning upon completion of the day's work. Perform maintenance and basic repairs to equipment. Superior time management skills. Minimum Qualifications Experience with a variety of woodworking tools, including table saws, miter saws, routers, jointers, and pneumatic tools. High-quality workmanship with attention to detail. Ability to read and understand work orders specific to each project. Willingness to learn Strong problem-solving abilities and good hand-eye coordination. Ability to communicate effectively with team members and project managers. Physical ability to lift heavy items (60-125 pounds) and work in varying conditions Minimum of two (2) years of hands-on, paid work experience in a wood shop or similar manufacturing environment (not including school or classroom-based training). Forklift experience Preferred Experience Previous carpentry experience, particularly in finish carpentry, door installation, or millwork environments Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Hand and power tool experience with a variety of wood working tools is a must Ability to use a tape measure with accuracy within 1/32" Good problem-solving abilities Experience working in a team environment Prior finish carpentry experience or assembly of finished wood products Must be able to communicate clearly with team members and project managers
Physical Demands:
Ability to stand, kneel, crouch, and lift for extended periods of time (8+ hours/day) Frequent lifting of materials weighing between 60-125 pounds.
Work Environment:
The shop environment will expose you to inherent dangers associated with the use of machinery and tools. All necessary safety equipment, including eye, ear, and respiratory protection, will be provided. Exposure to variable weather conditions may occur as part of the job. Shop is semi climate controlled with heat/air conditioning .
