$20+ per hour, based on experience Position Summary We are looking for a dependable, hardworking Shop Technician / Gasket Fabrication Technician to join our team in Savannah, GA. This position is responsible for fabricating and preparing gaskets, assisting with shop operations, organizing materials, and performing a variety of hands-on tasks to support our field and shop teams. The ideal candidate is mechanically inclined, pays close attention to detail, works well with their hands, and takes pride in producing quality work. Experience making gaskets or working in a mechanical, industrial, fabrication, or maintenance shop is preferred but not required for the right candidate. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Fabricate, cut, and prepare gaskets according to measurements, specifications, and job requirements. Measure materials accurately using tape measures, rulers, calipers, and other measuring tools. Read and interpret basic drawings, templates, measurements, and work instructions. Operate hand tools, power tools, cutting equipment, and other shop equipment safely. Prepare materials and parts for field technicians and maintenance crews. Assist with assembly, disassembly, repairs, and general shop projects. Maintain and organize shop tools, equipment, materials, and inventory. Receive, label, organize, and stage materials for upcoming jobs. Keep the shop clean, safe, and organized. Inspect completed work to ensure accuracy and quality. Assist with loading and unloading materials and equipment. Perform general shop maintenance and housekeeping. Follow all company safety policies and procedures. Assist field personnel with materials and equipment as needed. Perform other duties and shop-related tasks as assigned. Qualifications Previous shop, fabrication, mechanical, maintenance, or industrial experience preferred. Experience making or working with gaskets is a plus. Strong mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn. Ability to accurately measure and work from specifications. Comfortable using hand tools and power tools. Good attention to detail. Dependable and punctual with a strong work ethic. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Ability to lift and move materials and equipment as required. Must be willing to learn different shop processes and equipment. Valid driver's license preferred. Ideal Candidate The ideal candidate is someone who shows up on time, works hard, pays attention to details, and takes pride in doing the job correctly . We are looking for a team player who is willing to learn, can follow instructions, and can handle a variety of responsibilities in a busy shop environment. Experience with gasket fabrication, mechanical components, industrial maintenance, pipefitting, welding, machining, or general fabrication is a plus.
Compensation Starting pay:
$20+ per hour, based on experience and qualifications. Experienced candidates with gasket fabrication, mechanical, industrial, or fabrication experience may qualify for higher starting pay.
