Back Prototype Assembler Light Industrial & Manufacturing Fort Wayne , Indiana Contract to Hire Oct 1, 2026 Prototype Assembly Technician - (3-6 Month Contract) Peoplelink Staffing, in partnership with a leading automotive company, is seeking a skilled Prototype Assembly Technician to join their team.
Position Details:
Pay:
$18.00 per hour
Schedule:
7:30am - 4:00pm
Assignment Length:
Temporary, 3-6 months
Location:
Fort Wayne, IN Job Summary We are looking for a detail oriented individual with strong mechanical aptitude and the ability to read, interpret, and assemble components using blueprints and technical drawings . This role supports prototype build processes within an automotive environment, contributing to the development of new or updated vehicle components.
Key Responsibilities:
Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings Assemble prototype components with accuracy and attention to detail Follow written and verbal work instructions Operate basic hand and power tools safely Inspect parts and assemblies for quality and fit Collaborate with engineers and technicians during build phases Maintain a clean and organized work area
Qualifications:
Previous experience in assembly, mechanical work, or a related field Ability to read and understand technical drawings/blueprints Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills Ability to work independently and within a team Reliable attendance and strong work ethic
