5:00am•3:30pm (Monday to Thursday) Contract to Hire position Ability to Commute to Windsor Mill, MD 21244
Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated Cable Assembler to work in a manufacturing team in a dynamic production environment. The ideal candidate will be responsible for assembling electrical cables and harnesses with precision and efficiency, ensuring all components meet quality standards. This role offers an excellent opportunity to develop mechanical skills within a manufacturing facility that values safety, accuracy, and teamwork. The ideal candidate will bring hands-on experience with assembly processes, familiarity with hand and power tools, and a strong work ethic to contribute to our operational success.
Responsibilities Include:
Assemble and inspect cables according to specifications outlined in mechanical and electrical drawings Ability to read and follow wire harness assembly instructions Ability to gather materials and tooling necessary to perform work in an organized manner Routes, wires, and assembles electronic components using wire layout boards Numerous hand assembly operations based on detailed instructions Operate semi-automatic equipment such as crimp presses, wire twisters and wire strippers Conducts functional and continuity tests of wire harnesses and cable assemblies using friendly test fixtures Use of a solder iron to solder wires to switches or connectors Utilize various hand and power tools safely and effectively to complete assembly tasks Perform quality checks to ensure all cables are assembled to meet or exceed company standards Perform visual and dimensional inspections of in-process assemblies and finished products Troubleshoot and resolve minor issues that may arise during the assembly process. Follow all safety protocols and company policies to ensure a safe working environment Maintain a clean and organized work area to promote safety and efficiency Wire/cable harness assembly experience highly preferred
Qualification and Skills:
Has assembly/production experience and a strong mechanical aptitude Proven experience in cable assembly or related field is preferred Mechanical knowledge related to electrical components and wiring techniques Familiarity with assembly line operations and manufacturing workflows Motivated and detail oriented Attention to detail, excellent hand dexterity Experience using measuring instruments and hand tools such as crimpers, wire strippers, screwdrivers, and pliers Proficient in basic math skills Possesses good communication skills and a great attitude High School diploma or GED Pass background check and drug test
