Type:
full-time For 50 years, Helmel Engineering has designed, manufactured and serviced Coordinate Measuring Machines. We are seeking candidates for a full-time position to assemble coordinate measuring machines and move on to become a field technician servicing Helmel CMMs nationwide, possibly worldwide. Candidate must have a passport and be able/willing to travel. The candidate should possess the skills associated with a 2-year technology degree in a technical discipline and have a strong mechanical aptitude. In addition, he or she should possess the following abilities; General manufacturing skills such as blueprint reading, intermediate math skills (ability to measure in standard and metric units using various measuring devices, including measuring tapes, micrometers, calipers) is required. Computer proficiency Mechanical aptitude including ability to use basic hand tools, recognize, troubleshoot, and make small mechanical repairs. Ability to work with minimal supervision and be able to effectively communicate with co-workers and with supervision. Ability to understand work safety requirements. This includes the proper use of PPE (Personal Protective Equipment). Communicates openly and effectively in a professional manner. Documents test results accurately. Models professional and positive work ethics. Ability to effectively work in a team environment. Overtime (OT) may be required in times of increased production. Ability to safely lift & move heavy items. Possess strong math & computer skills. Must be detail oriented. Ability to interface with customers & maintain a high level of customer service. Ability to analyze & interpret data. Ability to multi-task & meet deadlines. Competitive salary, commensurate with experience. Company vehicle provided for work-related travel. Familiar with ISO standards is helpful. Other duties as assigned Must be willing to travel both domestically and internationally. Prior calibration and preventative maintenance experience preferred.
