Description Position Summary NextWave Industries is seeking motivated and detail-oriented Assembly Technicians to join our Busway Systems (BWS) team. This position is responsible for assembling copper and aluminum busbars, busway housings, and related components according to engineering specifications, quality standards, and customer requirements. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical aptitude, a commitment to quality, and the ability to work safely and efficiently in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Assembly Technicians play a critical role in delivering high-quality products while supporting production goals and maintaining workplace safety standards. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Assembly & Production Assemble, align, and secure copper and aluminum busbars, housings, and related components according to engineering drawings, blueprints, and work instructions.
Install insulation, hardware, and other materials required for final product assembly.
Perform torquing, labeling, and packaging operations according to work orders and quality specifications.
Verify dimensions, alignment, and assembly accuracy using tape measures, calipers, jigs, and other measuring devices.
Meet daily production goals while maintaining quality standards. Quality Control Conduct in-process inspections to ensure products meet electrical, mechanical, and customer specifications.
Identify and report material defects, quality concerns, or production issues to supervision.
Complete production and quality documentation, including inspection records, batch documentation, and serial number logs.
Maintain a high level of workmanship and attention to detail throughout the assembly process. Material Handling & Equipment Safely move materials and finished products within the production area.
Operate overhead cranes, lift tables, banding equipment, and other production equipment when trained and authorized.
Inspect tools and equipment prior to use and report any concerns promptly.
Assist with material staging and organization to support production flow. Safety & Continuous Improvement Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and required PPE requirements.
Maintain a clean, organized work area utilizing 5S and housekeeping standards.
Participate in safety meetings, training sessions, and department meetings.
Support continuous improvement initiatives and assist other departments as needed.
Promote teamwork and a positive work environment. Qualifications Required High school diploma or GED.
Ability to read a tape measure and perform basic mathematical calculations.
Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail.
Ability to safely use hand tools, power tools, and measuring instruments.
Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Reliable attendance and punctuality. Preferred Previous manufacturing, assembly, fabrication, or production experience.
Experience reading blueprints, diagrams, and technical work instructions.
Experience with electrical or mechanical assembly.
Forklift, crane, or material handling equipment experience.
Experience working with copper, aluminum, or metal fabrication processes. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Ability to read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, and technical instructions.
Strong understanding of assembly processes and quality requirements.
Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and measuring equipment.
Basic understanding of electrical safety and conductive materials.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
Effective communication and teamwork skills.
Willingness to learn new processes and complete required training and certifications.
Ability to adapt to changing production priorities and business needs. Physical Requirements Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the shift.
Frequent bending, reaching, twisting, pushing, and pulling.
Ability to lift up to 70 pounds with assistance.
Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, machinery, and varying temperatures.
Ability to wear required personal protective equipment, including safety glasses, gloves, hearing protection, and steel-toed footwear. Work Environment Manufacturing production floor with moderate to high noise levels.
Regular exposure to metal materials, machinery, and production equipment.
Fast-paced environment requiring attention to safety, quality, and productivity standards.
